Teachers and parents have backed off from discipline. They have been told to avoid consequences, avoid the word “no,” and not to put children in time-outs.  It is no coincidence that when adults become unassertive, children often become rude, violent and disrespectful.  Children need proper discipline and they aren’t getting it.
